I spent my weekend playing in the art studio
not too long ago.... and this is what happened.
I made pirate maps
for my girls and their friends.
I used some of my artist painting canvas.
Then I played with various media,
inks, tea, stamps, a candle flame...
The end result was a set of maps that are kid-proof,
playable, and "pretty authentic" according to my 6 year old.
Look for them in my Etsy shop soon!
arrrgh.

So cool! I am jealous, wish I could spend a weekend crafting. If I am lucky I can get in maybe 20 minutes at a time without hearing MOOOOMMMYY!
Those are amazing!
Those came out cute! And I bet they hold up much better than the ones we made with my daughter's kindergarten class of brown craft paper. :)
Those are very cool! Great job!
OMG how freakin adorable. You did a great job.
These are great! One of the children in my class brought in a pirate map that she bought. She and four other children spent 30 minutes going on a treasure hunt around the playground. What fun!
What an amazing treasure map, my son would love it - puts my humble efforts to shame!
Wow, that looks fantastic!
My hubby made parchment paper maps (paper soaked with tea) to go with the wooden swords and shields he made for his nephews this Christmas. Yours are so colourful, though!
