I entered the
Washington Post's Peeps Diorama contest
again this year
and was a finalist with my entry
"Goodnight Peep"Peeps Show IV
If you click on the link above
you can see the winner, finalists, and semi-finalist entries
(they even have a cool video tour of my diorama!)
(Look but don't touch!)
Here's "C" checking it out...
and showing you her copy of Good Night Moon
so you can see the size of my diorama.
I started the diorama on Saturday morning
after coming up with the idea in the shower.
(I do all of my best creative thinking there)
Geoff and my mom took care of the girls
so I could spend the afternoon building my diorama.
Sadly, I actually had all of the materials I needed
to make the diorama except the peeps, rocking chair and fire place!

They interviewed me for the
Washington Post's Magazine
you can read it here.
For those of you local Northern Virginia folks,
you'll see me and my diorama
in the magazine this weekend
(April 4, 2010 issue).
Some of you have commented about
my new head shot on my blog....
it's from a series taken recently by Diana Adams.

This great portrait was taken by my photographer friend, Diana Adams
to appear as my "head shot" for the magazine interview.
And finally....
In case you didn't get enough Peeps action yet,
I was a semi-finalist in 2008
with my "Sesame Peep" entry
#19 on the slide show
Yes, I'm a total Peep Nerd.

Pink and Green Mama,

Oh my goodness-- a friend just linked to this on Facebook, and the Goodnight Moon one, along with the other childhood book dioramas, was my favorite. How great to find out that it was you!

Oh, you were cheated! That is too cute and clever. There used to be a little independent book store here that had a day devoted to peeps. It was a hoot. People even wrote poems and stories about peeps. The kids loved it.

I just watched the video. You did such a wonderful job! I love all the little details!
I might have missed something somewhere, but what is the significance of the Magazine?

Amazing diorama! I can only imagine how fun that was to create. Congrats on your win!
The other entries are equally amazing. Thanks for sharing.
That is one of the cutest things I have ever seen...way to go and great job! Karen
Wow! I am a preschool teacher in New York and read your blog for ideas... but my friends Veronica and Michael were the winners this year in the Peep contest with their take on Up! Small world!
Amazing. I also find that any sort of creative idea I have is born in the shower!
How much fun and such a sweet book to choose to base it on - fabulous job!
Warm wishes, Tonya
Cool--I didn't know that was you! My kids and I watched the videos this morning and love your diorama. Congrats!
Happy Easter to you and to your lovely family!
LOVE THESE! I love Peeps as well. Do you have the Peeps cookbook? Get it if you don't. All sorts of cute ideas!
I for one think that you are a craft Empress! I am blown away by your awesome creativity!
Thanks Shopgirl!! You made my afternoon : )
No. Way. You even made the three little peeps, sitting on chairs. This is amazing. Suddenly I have a desire to make a diorama.
