Homemade Gift: Lego Book

We attend a lot of children's birthday parties
for various school friends,
neighborhood friends,
and family friends.

All of those kid parties start to
add up, especially when
you need a gift to bring for each child.

I prefer homemade gifts
whenever possible.
I think they're more thoughtful,
heartfelt, appreciated, and creative.

But what do you do when you
are running out of time, ideas,
or you just aren't that crafty?

We came up with the "Lego Book"
as a solution for one of "E"s friends recently.

She noticed that he enjoys
playing with Legos
during indoor recess (so do we!)

We love collecting our Lego building ideas
in a three ring binder that I keep in our block center.

We made this little boy, his own book
out of a three ring binder
with a custom cover
typed on our computer.

We printed out lego construction ideas/instructions
on card stock (to make the pages sturdy)
and slipped them in protective covers.

We got the directions from the Family Fun
and Lego website and packed his
book full of ideas!

Simple and fun.

These are the best books! I just made one for my Son's Lego Birthday Party and we LOVE it! We also have blank page protectors at the end to slip all of their Lego instructions into, as they get new sets! Perfect!

This is an AWESOME idea. I have wondered for years why there isn't a book that gives instructions for all of those pieces. Obviously, i just wasn't looking hard enough! Thanks for sharing.

We totally made this!! I even cut out all the pictures from the Lego Advent Calendar and taped them onto card stock to go in the book. We've been using it for two and a half years and the kids still love it.

Help!! I once read in your blog about a fabulous and adorable gift idea for a baby shower or new momma. It was made with a wooden recipe box and had red letter stickers on top. Inside you could put memories etc. of your children(s)...Can you help?
Thanks

This is awesome, thank you so much!! Both of your links point to the same site, though, are they supposed to?

Can't find instructions anywhere :(
