My blogging journey has been an
evolving process from day one.
It serves as a digital diary,
documenting our arts and crafts adventures,
family trips,
and daily life.
A perfect "scrapbook"
of non-traditional sorts
for my two young daughters.
I have been trying to find a way to
preserve the posts for them to read in the future.
Blog 2 Print came to my rescue
when I found them using a google search.
They are not endorsing this post,
I just wanted to share my experience with
their product with any of you
who may want to preserve your own blogs.
I have to admit,
after all of the time I've spent at this keyboard
typing away, it was very satisfying to have
tangible evidence of my hard work.
I ordered my blog divided by seasons,
in three month increments
(4 books for each year)
and (of course!) I ordered
them in RAINBOW order!
I love the way they look on a bookshelf.
They let me put my own photos
on the front and back covers.
Love it!

The seventh book is still in progress!
Table of contents....
No fancy formatting
like Snapfish or Kodak Gallery Photo Books....
but my photos are in there
with my words
an none of the other sidebar stuff.
Exactly what I wanted
to save for my kids.
(My mom and dad ordered a set
for themselves as well.)
Down the road, each of my daughters
will receive a complete set of hard-bound books,
documenting their childhoods.

I loved Blurb. The software was free, I found it easy to use (yes, I was frustrated that it downloaded every page on the same layout) and it was easy to pick new layouts. The cost for the product was great AND they have coupons available almost year round for free shipping, 10% off, etc.
But the reason I love them best is their customer service. I ordered two 160 page books for my blog, hard covered with my pic on the cover. One was perfect, one was not. I was so disappointed. I emailed the customer service who took care of everything. They ordered a new book, sent a UPS slip to pick up the "bad" book and the made sure the new one was to my satisfaction. No cost, arguing or fuss.
I've used snapfish and picaboo. Both produce good products, but when I had a problem with the printing one time I was told it was my fault and that my pics were fuzzy. (They weren't) I was not going to trust a larger project to them!
Your books are lovely. I'll have to try Blog to print next!
I also order books through Blog 2 Print. Next time I order, however, I will be ordering in rainbow colors because yours look so pretty!
Thank you so much for sharing this, I want to make books from my blog for the kids too. (Only the categories that relate to them though) and I love to see examples of others who have done so. How many pages did you get in each book? They look terrific and I'm loving the rainbow look :)

Your blog looks wonderful. Did you have someone help you with it? I've been thinking about getting a makeover, but I don't want to change it too much so that it's not recognizable. Any suggestions?
Also, the book idea- I've been thinking about doing this as well. I've started two years ago and I love looking back when they were preschoolers and our experiences.

I've been using Blog 2 Print as well and LOVE it! It really makes my time blogging fruitful and the fact that these books will be around for generations to read is amazing! My kids already enjoy having me read to them from our books.

My books were pretty big so they averaged between $40 and $50 per book but I did have a discount code that I was able to use for each book that they sent me as soon as I ordered the first one!
Yes, I found the site easy to use. I've made books with Snapfish before and thought it was trickier than Blog2Print's site.

MaryLea, thank you SO MUCH for sharing this. I have been trying to make a book a year for each of my kids at Snapfish, but I rarely seem to get it done. And I often look back over the family blog thinking how perfect it would be as a scrapbook.

This book idea is really cool, and I want to chime in also as really loving your new blog layout. If you read my blog at all, you've noted that I've changed the look of it about 1/2 dozen times in just a few days, because some of the templates somehow meant people using safari as their browser could not leave comments. DISASTER!! So I gave up trying and went backwards to save my blog. I guess I need to hire someone if I want something more unique, huh?
Oh - one more thing - since I started reading your blog, I've wondered about the significance of the pink and green in your blog name - and especially since the blog isn't colored pink and green. So where did the name originate? I'm sure there's a story there somewhere...

I haven't been here in awhile but nice new layout, and speaking of books, I think I know of one that needs a little attention from me over here. (wink wink) I am still settling into our new place and trying to get into the right space to get motivated but it's one of those New Year (i.e. the one that starts in September) resolutions, and I hope to be in contact with my illustrator soon. :)

I tried tinkering with my blog myself and could never do what I wanted. With my blog designer I was able to give her specific ideas and examples and tell her what I wanted it to look like and she actually made it happen! I couldn't be happier with the final product.
And YES! There is a story behind the Pink and Green name...I explain it under my little story about me if you click on the "About" tab at the top of my blog (right under my header)
