The group favorite
(and by far the messiest!)
activity yesterday at
"Mom Would Never Let Me
Do This At Home!"
art camp was
painting with feet
and hands....
and elbows,
and knees,
and tushies!
It got a bit slippery
but wasn't as
chaotic as I expected.
I rolled out
brown contractor's paper
(from Lowe's Hardware store)
down the length of the sidewalk
in front of my house.
We used aluminum trays
(from the dollar store)
with tempera paint
(and a dash of liquid soap)
I loved the tie-dyed
sidewalk and grass
afterwards!!
My friend Jen, over at Paint Cut Paste
does this with her sweet daughter, Novi.
She's the mom who actually
WOULD let you do this at home!
Happy Mess-Making!
Fondly,
pink and green mama,

yay, isn't this the most fun? we had a great time when we did it. i can imagine how cool it was with more than one kid there! you're brave, ml!
we do this at home, too! for my almost 3-year old painting means dumping out all the paint and smearing it all over her body. the reason we don't paint more often is because we are always out of paint!!
i have been using our white paper roll. i will have to go check out the contractor's paper!
Ha-Ha Jen!! Brave or mentally ill -- you pick which one!

Yay, what fun! We would do this at home too. Lovely to see it out on the sidewalk - might inspire passersby to have a go?!
Heh, I like doing this indoors in the middle of winter. We rarely get snow here, so we roll out white paper and mix up gray paint to pretend we're leaving footprints in the snow. Yep, very messy! =)
How fun! I love this idea. And the tie died grass/sidewalk was so artsy!
We have done this a couple of times too- it's such a huge hit with my toddler :)
Love it! I am putting this on our list of fun things to do this week. Messes are great!
Fun activity! I love the activities you share on your blog and gave you an award at http://LivingMontessoriNow.com/2010/08/20/awards-to-happily-pass-on/
Thanks for the fun idea. We did it this weekend and the kids loved it! I posted lots of pics here http://sometimescreative.blogspot.com/2010/08/sidewalk-art.html
