Printmaking with empty cardboard toilet paper tubes? You betcha!
This is one of those project ideas that popped into my head in the shower.
I do my best thinking there, unloading the dishwasher, and while driving -- go figure.
I noticed an empty cardboard toilet paper tube can be squeezed into a heart shape.
Then, I thought you could dip it in paint and make it into a stamp.
Like printmaking with cookie cutters but with a longer handle
to keep little fingers out of the paint.
Put a group of three or four hearts together and add a stem,
you've got a friendly little clover print!
These would make cute note cards!
"C" painting stems, bushes, and grass for her second shamrock picture.
Happy Green Printmaking!
Fondly,

How cute would that be stamped on a t-shirt with fabric paint? Would be a cute (and super-cheap) St. Patty's shirt!
Simple and cute! I saw an idea where someone used the tube heart shape to create a 3D shamrock ---cut (3 heart shapes) and glued them together and added a cardboard strip for a stem! Printing is always fun and the results are more immediate!
My best ideas come in the shower, driving, and cooking. Love your blog---you are phenomenal!
That's so funny -- I just did this over Valentine's weekend with my son. We made a collage of hearts, then cut it out and glued it to the inside of his Valentines Day cards to his grandparents. This is an awesome way to make shamrocks. I wouldn't have even thought of that. Thanks for the idea!
@ Nicole -- YES!! T-shirts would be adorable : )
@ Alicia,
I bet those collages were a huge hit with the grandparents!! ; )

@ Melissa,
The 3-D shapes would make cute ornaments for our Season's tree in our kitchen!! Will have to file that idea away for next year, not sure I can pull it off in time this year. : )

That's a pretty cool idea. Kids like random stuff like that, and your daughter looks like she is having fun also.
I am terrible at thinking up inspiration, and started a blog talking about how difficult it is to be creative. You don't see to have a problem though!
Best, Sarah
So cute! Thanks!

So cute and easy! And who doesn't have a toilet paper tube lying around? Love things that cost me nothing and I already have on hand. Thanks for the idea!
Great idea!!
By the way, I've been voting for you in Circle of Moms, I wanted to see what you'd come up with (very curious).
This is fabulous! I just prepped a bunch of examples for a library St. Partick's Day party! I needed something simple, cheap and fun! I found it! Thanks for sharing your creativity!
love this! you have such a beautiful blog. :-)
Toilet paper tube is useful after all. It's cool idea to use the toilet paper in the art.
