* Just Hanging Around Fun Photo Bookmarks!

I saw the idea for these adorable bookmarks on Pinterest
and had to make some with my own girls.
The idea seems to have originated from the Creative Family Moments blog
and Valerie's super cute homemade tea tags from the Frugal Family Fun blog.
She made hers with clear contact paper/shelf liner, I used my little laminator.

We made a set of bookmarks for Grandpa's birthday (and one for my own books.)
They're so cute, I think I need to make some for Grandmas and Great Grandmas too!

We started with a photo shoot in the playroom.
I asked both of the girls to pretend they were hanging from a rope
and we got some fun photos.

It was a bit trickier explaining the concept to "C" (age 4)
but we got a shot we could use.

Then, I printed the girls' photos out on our printer
and cut them out carefully.
I laminated the photos with my little laminator.

And once again cut them out but this time I left a bit of a border
to make them sturdier.

Then, we punched a small hole by their hands
and tied on some embroidery floss as a tassel.

Fun and easy bookmarks.
I think these would be great teacher gifts too!

These are SUPER cool. My son is starting to read chapter books and bookmarks are something we simply cannot have enough of. Perhaps if they have his picture on them, they won't get lost so much? :)

Seriously cool! You made it look so easy. What did you do on the back? I guess you could write a message from the kid?

Happy new year to you and your family!

What adorable gifts for your family. They would put a smile on the girls' grandparents faces every time they use these bookmarks.

Hi Marylea, and thank you! I ended up making a couple of bookmarks of my son as a present to my dad. I just love how they turned out! And thx for the lead about the laminator! Who knew you could get a home laminator that actually works for so cheap! I featured this craft in my blog: http://mamaslittlemuse.blogspot.com/ thank you again. I have enjoyed reading your blog!
