Recycled Tissue Paper Sunflower Bowl

This was our second project from Jane Bull's book, "Make It!"

We had plenty of eco paste leftover from our 

Re-cycled Paper Bowl making project. 

I have to admit that I really wanted to make this sunflower bowl too. 

I was excited when "E" asked if she could make one.

We already had our eco-paste made from the re-cycled paper bowl project.

"E" shredded a bunch of tissue paper into strips. 

She worked with yellow, orange, green, and blue.

She greased up one of my kitchen bowls with a layer of vaseline

then got to work layering the tissue paper strips with eco-paste. 

We found that the best system was for me to hand her strips with my 

non-sticky handys while she stayed goopy and spread out the glue/goop. 

She worked from green to blue then added the yellow and orange. 

The overlapping areas in the center look dark (sort of brownish) just like a real sunflower. 

She put her sunflower bowl in the art studio to dry with 

the other paper bowls. 

The tissue paper sunflower dried a lot faster than the paper pulp bowls did.

It was dry in 2 or 3 days instead of 4-5 days.

E did a great job on her tissue paper sunflower bowl, I love it! 

I'm thinking it needs some brown M&Ms.
