Our kid-friendly stuffed animal storage solution.
We went from this....to this!
I ordered a zippered bean bag slip cover from Pottery Barn Kids
and we stored our stuffed animals inside. So easy.
Whenever they want an animal, they just unzip the case and dig one out!
Fondly,
Pink and Green Mama

Great idea! She looks very happy perched there on top of her stuffed animal collection. I'm always searching for ways to tackle the stuffed animal overflow. I bought a "boon bag" which is basically the same thing but with a mesh panel so you can see what's inside. But my all time favorite solution is the stuffed animal tree! Have you seen these? http://www.amazon.com/The-Storage-Store-Stuffed-Organizer/dp/B000RA2MZ4 Such an easy way to get them all off the floor. Thanks for always sharing your great ideas. I get a lot of inspiration from you!
This is perfect!
I love this idea, but it's a bit too expensive for me ... maybe you could come up with a pattern for making our own? Love your site!
awesome idea! Thanks!!
This is such a fantastic idea!
My daughter is allergic to dust mites, so I limit her exposure to her stuffed animals by only allowing her to have three "out" in her bedroom at the same time. Then, at the end of the week, we throw them in the wash and pull another three out of a big cotton laundry bag that's stashed in her closet.
This would be a much better, cuter, way for her to keep her stuffed animals clean - and close! (even if she can't actually hug them. LOL)
@Kelly in PA,
I'm allergic to dust mites too! I wonder if you could put the stuffed animals inside a zip up allergen barrier mattress protector or pillow cases inside the bean bag to keep the dust mite exposure down if she wants to sit on the bag....

@ Jenny,
Love the stuffed animal tree idea. I also like the zoo or jail you can make for them with a book case and stretchy "bars"
: )

Your idea beats what I used to do with my kids... pillow cases! We used to line the bed by the wall with pillow cases filled with stuffed animals. This looks much much cuter.

Brilliant Marylea! Thank you for sharing this idea. I've been searching for a way to store Lil Miss's stuffed toys - man they take up a lot of space! Thank you for sharing your idea!!
You are a genius! If you had to guess, how many animals does one slip cover fit? Sadly, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should order one or two (or five, if I honestly want to try to get them all in.)
@ Renee- I'm afraid to know how many we've crammed in there. It really depends on the size of your animals, we have a lot of beanie baby sized critters and only a few of the bigger ones. We also do a 2 or 3 times a year weed out and send animals on to new homes once the bean bag is too full.
We only keep what fits in one bag, don't need more than that!

If this isn't okay, please let me know and I will remove it immediately!
Hi, really great idea!!! and where did you find her leopard outfit? My baby will love that! Thanks!
Hi Anyasma,
The kitty t-shirt and leggings were from H&M at least two years ago and the leopard print skirt came from Goodwill 4 years ago, it has a Children's Place label in it. I'm sorry it's not anything new or in stores currently. I will say that H&M does have a lot of kitty and cat print clothing pretty regularly! Good luck on your search!
Warmly,
MaryLea
