My sweet 5 year old, "C" came up with this fun little craft last weekend
and had so much fun making cotton ball sushi with her sister and a friend,
that I had to share them with the rest of you!
The ingredients for this project were in our art studio and medicine closet!
The girls cut scraps of felt and attached them to cotton balls
with bits of skinny black masking tape.
If you don't have masking tape,
you could use electrical tape (but be warned, it is VERY sticky!),
Washi tape,
or glue some black satin ribbon around the project.
These were so easy to make and they're adorable.
The girls are making Bento boxes for their play kitchen - I love it when
they get crafty and make their own toys.
The best part, is that they came up with the project on their own.
Wishing you all a crafty and fun-filled weekend!
Warmly,
Pink and Green Mama

Awesome idea! My son thinks it looks like fun. We have a wooden sushi set we enjoy playing with, but it would be fun to make our own.
Jessica, I know you will have a blast making your own sushi! Go for it!

um...LOVE! I agree that is the best when they come up with their own little craft ideas :)
What a great idea! I love it.
These are great! My 11yr old loves sushi, so I am sure she'd lend a hand in the making if we give it a try.
these look so yummy and fun to make. :) I know my kids will love to make these. thanks for sharing.
I made them with my girls (3 and 5) yesterday. It was so easy and fun! I didn't have black masking tape, so I used black permanent marker to color the green masking tape I had. Thank you for sharing!
SOO cute and creative!! I love it!!
Kozue -- I love the idea of just coloring your own masking tape!! Genius! So glad you had fun making them : )

Awesome craft! What creative girls you have.
This sushi is so much fun! We are supposed to have a snow storm tomorrow. I have cotton balls and felt, I know what we can do if the power goes out (hey-even if it doesn't!).
That sounds like a perfect way to spend the afternoon Eve!! Stay warm.
: ) ML
So we are making these as I type... instead of felt, I had lots of foam stickers of different shapes and sizes... so we used those for the veggies and fish on top of the rice (cotton balls). Now we are practicing our motor skills as we pick up the sushi rolls with skewers that I had at home, instead of chopsticks. Thank you for sharing. :)
This cracks me up, for some reason. Cutest sushi ever! I suppose we should all take our kids out for sushi or to the grocery store to see it in real life. I have this idea to somehow get a little prawn tail into this craft. :)
