I was an Elementary Art Teacher in the public school system for 5 years. I majored in Studio Art and Art History in college and have a Masters in Fine Arts. Now I'm home crafting with my two little girls: E (11 years old) and C (7 years old). You can find my work in magazines, educational websites, and lesson plans/e-books for teachers.
I've been blogging since 2008 and now I'm heading back into the art studio to pursue my work as a painter and printmaker and show my work in local galleries here in the Pacific Northwest. I make sculptural books, art quilts, and mixed media work.
I married my college sweetheart. If you want to learn about how I met my sweet hubby (19 years ago), a real life love story -- go read this post about our real life love story and battle with cancer. As a family we craft with recyclables and spoil our rescued, retired racing greyhound rotten! You can learn more about me by reading this interview post. I enjoy sharing our art adventures and ideas with you here but I don't allow the blog to take over my life.
You won't find daily posts here, frequently I only post once a week, sometimes once a month. As I spend more time in the art studio I will be spending a lot less time here blogging. It is more important to me to find balance and spend time with the people I love the most, off the computer. You are more likely to find me: gardening, reading, painting, playing with my kids, endlessly rearranging our house, fixing up our house with my hubby (my partner in crime) organizing closets (yes, I really do think it's fun) and walking (sometimes running) with Pippi (the greyhound mentioned above.)
doing what you love.
